Valentines Jewelry Gifts
The time is near for Valentines gifts. Personally I used to think Valentines was just a hallmark holiday. Didn’t really celebrate and wasn’t upset if I didn’t get flowers or candy from my sweetheart. After all, shouldn’t I receive gifts all through the year?
A few years ago, I was home with our baby girl, Lailani. My husband’s tradition has always been to send the girls flowers to their classrooms. With his 3 daughters and a brand new baby girl, that can be costly! I told him not to send flowers to me to save a little on the bill with our local flower shop.
Sitting at my desk, making jewelry of course, I hear our dog start to bark, the steady noise of tires on our driveway and soon after, the rap at the door. A single rose in my face greets me for our sweet little girl. I smile and tip and let her smell her first flower from her daddy. In the next second, a wave of sadness moves through me. I can’t believe it. I’m truly upset that I didn’t receive the flowers that I told him not to buy…How dare he listen to my direct order of not sending me flowers?? With a flushed face, I start to close the door wishing “have a nice day” to my friendly delivery man. Out of the corner of my eye, I notice a walking flowering brush come towards me. What do we have here? The most beautiful huge bouquet of pink and white Stargazer Lilies and dark red roses accented with soft flowing ferns and kisses of babies breath. My heart skips a beat. Memories of the first box of chocolates I ever received. That feeling from your childhood love relived. It’s at that very moment that I realize, I am truly a romantic at heart. Flowers from my sweetheart on Valentines Day has romantic meaning once again!
An Even better and long lasting gift would, of course be, jewelry. I have hand made wire hearts out of sterling silver. I Have filled these hearts with my custom polymer clay designs. Featuring pinks and purples of course. Also available in the ever popular blacks, whites and gold.
